What are you waiting for and is it "weighting" you down?
I was working with a wonderful new client earlier this week. Despite the health challenges he is facing at the moment, he is so positive and willing to move on. It was a privilege working with him - he filled me with hope!
After we'd worked on the uncertainty he was feeling, he told me he felt so much lighter. He described it as being "unweighted". What a fabulous expression! Isn't that what we all strive for with EFT, to feel that sense of unweighted-ness and freedom? We long to release those heavy weights of stress, fear, anger or grief and move on.
I love looking at words when I'm using EFT. In the case of my client, the expression he came up with interested me because he has been in a period of "waiting". Waiting for his health to improve before he can move forward and fulfil his dreams.
Once he had overcome the uncertainty and anxiety he was feeling, he felt safe enough to go ahead with his plans - he realised he didn't need to wait anymore. And I'd like to think he felt "unweighted" AND "unwaited" due to the shifts he experienced.
If you're feeling uncertain or anxious about your current situation and fearful of the future, you might consider using the following phrases.
With your dominant hand, tap the karate chop point on the other hand while saying the following:
Even though I'm feeling very uncertain and afraid, I want to accept myself anyway
Even though I feel helpless and I don't know what to do, I want to honour these feelings
Even though there are so many hurdles to overcome and I can't see a way around them, I want to accept who I am and how I'm feeling about all of this.
Now tap the following places while saying each of the phrases below.
Top of the head: I feel so uncertain
Eyebrow: I don't know what to do for the best
Side of the eye: it's all out of my control
Under the eye: I feel helpless
Under the nose: I feel weighted down by the stress of it all
Chin: and I can't see a way out
Collarbone: I've just got to wait
Under the arm: and that makes me afraid
Top of the head: I deserve to feel differently about this
Eyebrow: I wonder if I could feel safe enough to feel differently about this?
Side of the eye: I am willing to accept I am doing my best
Under the eye: and perhaps I'm already doing more than I realise
Under the nose: I'm ready to let go of this uncertainty
Chin: because it's preventing me from thinking clearly
Collarbone: I deserve to feel "unweighted" and calm
Under the arm: and I choose to make it surprisingly easy.
